Image description: “FOUNTAIN” by Christof Kindlinger
Contemporary abstract painting | Layered colors | Slow Painting from Munich

Christof Kindlinger ’s work “FOUNTAIN” unfolds a delicate architecture of light, color, and transparency. At the center of the image rises a towering form in cool shades of blue, reminiscent of a spring, a basin, or an inner space. It is surrounded by translucent swaths of color in light turquoise, radiant lemon yellow, and deep ultramarine. As if emerging from a meditative flow, a multi-layered composition unfolds that remains open to interpretation—it oscillates between stillness and movement, between condensation and dissolution.

Kindlinger creates his works through a deliberate process of applying, scraping away, and painting over. Nothing appears random; everything is an expression of a conscious dialogue with the canvas—a form of “slow painting” that is meant not only to be viewed but also to be experienced. In doing so, the artist uses paint not as a means of representation, but as an independent resonating body, as sound in three-dimensional form.

“FOUNTAIN” exemplifies Kindlinger’s artistic approach: The work invites the viewer to pause and contemplate the indefinite—a painterly fountain of possibilities.
