Christof Kindlinger – “LEUCHTEN”
Acrylic on canvas
Abstract Painting | Contemporary Art | Color Composition

Christof Kindlinger’s work “LEUCHTEN” unfolds as an intense explosion of color with a strong atmospheric quality. A bright red form, arched almost like a dome, dominates the center of the composition and seems to literally glow from within. The bold, almost glowing expanse of color is framed at the bottom by cool shades of turquoise and blue—a harmoniously contrasting base that acts as a calm counterbalance to the expressive red.

In the lower third of the painting, a small organic form in dark blue with a perforated or bubbly texture adds a poetic touch. It appears as a symbol or echo, almost like an enigmatic shadow that subtly subverts the pure effect of the color.

The composition thrives on transparency, overlays, and the interplay between surface and depth. Here, too, Kindlinger employs his characteristic layering technique—colors interpenetrate one another, appearing weightless yet firmly anchored in the pictorial space. The upper edge, with its warm red hue, acts as a conceptual boundary or horizon, lending additional rhythm to the entire painting.

“LEUCHTEN” is a striking example of Kindlinger’s ability to compose abstract forms and colors in a way that evokes emotion without being narrative—a still life of light, color, and feeling.
